RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PROCESS PERFORMANCE OF DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION STAGES

Abstract

This paper describes research based on information collected from experts to establish the perceived degree of influence of performances of main design sub-processes on the performances of main construction sub-processes. A “KPIs matrix” was used during interviews with experts to establish the relationships between a number of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) representing the performances of the related main sub-processes. Analysis of the results from the information compiled in the matrices indicates which sub-process of the design stage affects which sub-process in the construction stage and to what extent, hence provides the project manager focus for control.
