NEW STRUCTURAL SYSTEMS EMPLOYING INNOVATIVE STRUCTURAL MATERIALS

Abstract

The targets of this research project was to realize a building that would suffer no damage during great earthquakes, was to develop a building having a long service life, and was to develop a building that would be friendly to the environment with excellent recyclability, reusability and waste reduction performance. The new building system is composed of innovative structural materials, a rational joining system and vibration control devices. Full scale tests were conducted that were designed to shake the entire structure, and it was proven that building structure would suffer no damage.
