Abstract

Global Warming and the Climate Crisis are two global issues that are increasingly being echoed by many parties lately. The main cause of global warming is the energy consumption and greenhouse gases produced from burning fossil fuels, motor vehicles, modern factories, farms and power plants. One is the energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions for the road construction industry, which is also getting more attention recently. In Indonesia research related to energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions is still very rare, especially in the field of highway pavement construction. This study used two methods to estimate the energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions (CO2), the method of Table Energy Use and GHG Emissions for Pavement Construction and method of fuel conversion. Estimation results of the two methods will then be compared mathematically. Activities observed in this study are limited to mixture production, transportation and construction activities. The estimation of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions (CO2) by the method of fuel conversion is greater than estimated by the method of Table Energy Use and GHG Emissions for Pavement Construction. The estimation of energy consumption by fuel conversion method that are 3,750,151,614 MJ or equal to 423.38 MJ / ton, and the production of greenhouse gas emissions (CO2) are 278,213,526.2 kg or equal to 31.44 kg CO2/ton . While the estimation of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions (CO2) by the method of Table Energy Use and GHG Emissions for Pavement Construction are 3,339,202,571 MJ or equal to 377 MJ / ton, and the production greenhouse gas emissions (CO2) are 254 204. 545.9 kgCO2 or equal to 28.7 kg CO2/ton
