Abstract

Construction industry in Indonesia keeps developing to fulfil nation’s need of infrastructure and other construction projects. Therefore, research and development in construction industry is continuously being done to reach more efficient processes. This research will investigate further about comprehension of lean principles in the related construction project to enhance the value of the construction project(s). Lean principles is a principle which aims to increase efficiency and value of a process, it is currently being used widely in manufacturing industry. This research is about identifying whether there are positive results achieved in manufacturing could be applied in construction. Performance increase in construction project will granted if it is well-applied. The likely challenge in this research is to identify lean principles factors and variables in building construction which located at Tangerang. Research methodology will be qualitative and also quantitative, to get the maximum research findings related to all the problems. The analysis will use the data from survey that gathered from construction experts all around Tangerang. Using the research data, factors and variables of lean principles in building construction is identified. Further application of lean principles in construction will lead to a more satisfying and better construction performance. Well application in construction management will lead us to not only more profit, but also more sustainable construction industry in the future as well.
