Abstract

In the conventional analysis, only the superstructure is modeled at a time, the part of the structure remaining below the ground is ignored in the model. In this study, investigation has been made by modeling the whole of superstructure, footings, supporting piles and soils as an integrated structure for a fifteen storied apartment buildings located at Mirpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Wind and earthquake loads along with vertical loads were considered. Conventional analysis with superstructure model only was also performed for comparison. The structural analysis was performed using the legend structural software STAAD.Pro.
